Tips On Hiring A Pest Management Company from the Florida Pest Management Association

ORLANDO, FL - April 16, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- April is National Pest
Management Month -- an opportune time to remind Floridians to use care and a checklist
when choosing a pest management company for their pest control needs.

to make sure that the company you hire follows professional practices."

The FPMA recommends following these guidelines when selecting and hiring a
professional pest management company:

	* Make sure the company is properly licensed by the State of Florida. Have the
	company representative show you their Florida I.D. card.

	* Ask your friends and neighbors. Someone you know has probably faced a pest
	infestation and found a reputable company to solve it. Get their
	recommendations.

	* Check the company s professional affiliations. Membership in a state or
	national association shows they have access to the latest technology and
	training, and accepts an organization s code of ethics when available.

	* Get the treatment plan in writing. Find out what the pest problem is and how
	it will be treated, as well as what you can expect as a result.

	* Read the guarantee. Many companies offer them, but there may be limitations,
	exemptions or conditions.

	* Buy value, not price. What appears to be a bargain may need a second look. A
	higher price may come with better service or more frequent visits. Compare
	apples to apples.
